Dialog: "I will be meeting with the board to go over this. "

We use the future continuous to talk about complete actions in the future or to say that you will be in the middle of doing something. Let's take a look at some examples of both situations.

1) Talking about complete actions in the future

  • On our show tonight I will be talking to a famous Brazilian plastic surgeon.
  • The president will be making a statement about the crisis later today.
  • Do you think Ronaldinho will be playing in the next World Cup?

2) Talking about being in the middle of something in the future

  • I won't be working tomorrow afternoon.
  • This time next year I'll be traveling with my family.
  • Don't come tomorrow at 1:00 PM. Mr. Smith will be having lunch at that time.

3) Compare will be doing and will do:

  • At ten in the morning I'll be at home. I'll be writing my paper.
  • I will start work at 9:00 AM. At 9:05 AM I'll be working.
