Social networks such as Facebook and Linkedin are great channels to get a good job. People just have to be careful about it and don't join communities like "I don't like to work" or "I hate my boss".

Cultural activities like reading good books, listening to music and watching to movies are my favourites ones.
I prefer science-fiction movies such as Star Wars and Chronicles of Ridick. When it comes to literature, my favourite book is "One Hundred Years of Solitude", written by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

Almost perfect, Genilton, as always! Just remember you watch to movies, without to. Also, just so you know, in American English it's favorite. Favourite is the British English spelling. Excellent! Abs.

I love romantic comedy movies, such as Pretty Woman and You've Got Mail.

I can sing and play the piano but I wish I could play and sing just like Alicia Keys.

Hi, Cris! It was great meeting you the other day! You can call romantic comedy movies just "romantic comedies" and it is understood that you are talking about movies. "I like romantic comedies, such as Pretty Woman and You've Got Mail." Both very good romantic comedies! You must like "Sleepless in Seattle" as well.

I enjoy watching movies like suspense and adventure.

There are many books that I like such as Twilight and the Kite Runner.Have you ever read?
Foto
Por: Josh em 22/02/2010 às 13:33h
Hi, Denzel! Your first sentence is almost perfect. You have to do one of two things, thoug: either you complete the phrase with "...like suspense and adventure movies." OR use the nouns "suspense" and "adventure" correctly "I enjoy watching movies about suspense and adventure." your second sentence is very good. Your question needs an object. You are actually asking if I have ever read BOOKS in my life, and not specifically the ones you mention. You need to end the question like this: "Have you ever read these books / them / anything like them, etc."

hi,these are my senteces.
I've read some Stephane Mayer's book such as Twilight and The Host.
I like of flowers like violet and roses.
You are a good person like you brother.

Por: Josh em 02/03/2010 às 10:27h
Ok, Taniac, let's take a look: "I've read some Stephanie Mayer books such as Twilight and The Host." OR "I've read some of Stephanie Mayer's books such as Twilight and The Host." In the first example you use "Stephanie Mayer" as an adjective: what kinds of books? Stephanie Mayer books. Since you use "some", plural, you need to put the noun in the plural form, too - books. In the second example I use the possessive form - "...some of Stephanie Mayer's books..." Your second sentence: in English you like something, not "of" something (gostar de). When you are talking about things in general, you put them in the plural: "I like flowers like violets and roses." Your last sentence is perfect, and I will tell my brother you said those nice things!

Do you thing that Courtney Cox is pretty like Cameron Diaz?
It´s good for you have skills such as loyalty and honesty.
Foto
Por: Josh em 05/03/2010 às 10:06h
I do think that Courtney Cox is pretty. But not as pretty as Cameron Diaz. And it is good for you to have skills, but loyalty and honesty are more qualities than skills. A skill is something you are good at, like playing football, or drawing well. Loyalty and honesty are what we call "character traits".

To become a good professional it´s important to do some efforts, such as studing english, having an exchange and doing a MBA.

On my job I´m always prospecting opportunities like new business and confereces to build a better social network.

Por: Tamara em 07/03/2010 às 13:56h
Flavia- Hi. Effort is used in the singular. You make an effort. "...,it´s important to make an effort to get more skills, such as studying english, going on an exchange program and getting an MBA." Attention, also, to: "At work" e "businesses". Good job! Abs.

Hi Tamara! I have a doubt. When can I say: "To study english" ou "studying english"? I thought that both are possible.
Abraços!
Foto
Por: Tamara em 09/03/2010 às 10:50h
Hi, Flavia. Yes, both can be used. Not in the sentence above, though. You can't say "...such as to study English...". In this case, specifically, it has to be studying English because you're talking about the activity. I corrected you because you mispelled it (studing.) Take a look at some examples: "Studying English can be a lot of fun." / "I love to study English with my friends." Abs.
Foto
Por: flaviab em 09/03/2010 às 12:22h
Okay Tamara, but if I say "I love studying english with my friends", will it be wrong? Do I need to add "ing" exceptionally when I use such as or in the way I put above is also right?
Foto
Por: Tamara em 09/03/2010 às 16:10h
Hi! "I love studying English with my friends" is also correct. Abs.
