Hey Josh. Can I use as .. as in these cases?
I would like to speak English as well as Josh speaks Portuguese. Maybe I must live in the States for as many years as Josh lives in Brazil.

Thanks, Monica. Are you a teacher too ? I didn´t know.

I have a doubt : you put in the gramatica: "John's house is as easy to find as I thought. (A casa do John é tão fácil de achar quanto eu pensei.)
It isn´t better to put: John´s house WAS as....
I think is in the PAST
Foto
Por: monicabic em 05/11/2009 às 18:58h
Pati, poderia sim, mas como é um fato que ainda é verdadeiro você pode usar o presente. A casa ainda é fácil de achar.

I first read the friends' tasks, and I found a more interesting sentence than the other ones.
So, my task:
to save energy is as important as to recycle plastic materials.

You task is well done, Pati.

The English is as easy to learn as Portuguese.See you!!!
Foto
Por: Josh em 05/11/2009 às 10:57h
I think English is much easier to learn than Portuguese, Denzel! Portuguese is a very difficult language! Let's look at your sentenc: "The English is as easy to learn as Portuguese." You don't need the "the" at the beginning of the sentence. Other than that, great job!

Hello guys.

I don't know if solar chargers would work fine in some countries due to the lack of the sun. In England, Ireland for example I've heard that the sun don't usually show up as frequently as in Brazil, so without the sunshine, no energy in that case. lol.

I think that the sales of solar devices will increase more and more since the population is starting concerning themselves a little bit more about environment and of course about their money as well. I for one have a solar system in my home to heat the water, so I don't need to use electricity to take my showers; it's great for the environment and even better to my purse (Is it ok purse here?). lol.

That's it guys.

See you

I can tell you first hand that the sun doesn't usually show up very often in England, Ireland and Scotland! I think that's why the British tried to conquer the world - more sunshine! I agree; once people become more concerned about the environment, and once the technology becomes cheaper, then people will really start using solar technology on a much wider scale. I think it's great you use it to heat your water. Well done! That's thinking green! And to answer your question, only if you use a "purse" could you say that. You might use "wallet" instead! LOL!

Sorry.
