I'm going to start a new job in a big company next week, but I'm somewhat concerned because people there talk in english the most of the time. That's why I'm studying here! I hope I learn a lot.

Hi, Cammi! The meaning of "to catch up with" here is not an easy one to explain in one translation. Think of it like this: if you do something in the past that has a negative cumulative effect on you today, you can say that that thing has "caugth up with you". It doesn't necessarily mean "acabar com". For example: "Spending so much on shoes has finally caught with her; she doesn't have any money to pay her bills." Here it would mean something like "levar a falência".

Hey, Sandrorc. This is one of those situations where the word in Portuguese is very close to the word in English, but the meanings change a little. "Anxious" in English actually means to be worried or preoccupied, fearful of something, while is relative in Portuguese "ancioso" can mean to be excited about something. So in this case what you will want to use is "to be excited about" or "to look forward to". "I'm particularly looking forward to my next vacation." "I think that it will be good for me to take a rest and to spend more time with my kid." Great job!

Great first sentence, Fernando. Good job! The only thing that needs changing in the second one is that in English we are "sad about something". Why are you somewhat sad about your birthday this year?
