Anamaria- Hi! Não deu zebra mesmo! ;) Eu ainda estou decidindo para quem torcer...rsss. Quanto à sua pergunta, Usa-se "hope" para quando você tem um desejo para o futuro: I hope I can go- Eu espero que eu possa ir (aqui há a possibilidade de você ir). No seu caso, como usou could, fica I wish I could go- Eu gostaria de poder ir (aqui há chances mínimas ou inexistentes - a tradução não é exata, mas fica mais hipotética, por isso o wish). A única diferença é que o "which" dá ideia de opção. Por exemplo: What's your name? (sem opção, certo?) mas Which is your car, the blue or the red? (temos duas opções então temos que usar o "which")

O verbo TO BE significa SER ou ESTAR. Conjugado, ele fica AM, IS ou ARE no presente:

isso é / isso está - it is
nós somos / nós estamos - we are
vós sois / estais - you are
eles são / eles estão - they are
