In English you can use both "make" and "take" when talking about a trip. However there is a slight difference in how we use them.
We say make a trip when we mention the place we want to travel to. For example:
I want to make a trip to India next spring.
Take a trip can be used to talk about both trips in general and specific trips. For example:
I want to take a trip.
Let's take a trip to India!
