Josh is a dog person because he likes dogs. I know he's not fond of cats so he could say:
"I'm not a cat person."
I, personally, am both a dog person and a cat person, so that means I like both dogs and cats.

Teacher, I have a doubt. Do I use "tireder than" or "more tired than"?
You're going to use "more tired". It's a question of the way it sounds - "tireder" just sounds weird so the grammarians let it break the rules to be "more tired".
Those books are more interesting than this journal.
