At the end of this lesson you'll be able to:
Tania: Um, Rebecca, you've got to give me a hand. My GPS is down and I have no idea how to get to the convention center.
Rebecca: Relax. Where are you now? Let me see if I can help you out.
Tania: Ok, I'm on Las Vegas Boulevard, right in front of the Venetian.
Rebecca: Ok, I know where you are. Keep going down Las Vegas Boulevard, all right? You're going to come to Sands Avenue on your right. Just go past that until you hit Desert Inn Road.
Tania: Right. Desert Inn Road.
Rebecca: After that take a right onto Desert Inn and follow that until you see the Convention Center. It's across from Piero's Italian Cuisine. You can't miss it.
Tania: Great, Rebecca! Thanks a million. I'll see you in a little while.
Rebecca: Drive safely!
Tania: Beleza, Rebecca! Muitíssimo obrigada! Te vejo daqui a pouco.
Rebecca: Dirija com cuidado!
After this lesson, you'll never get lost in an English speaking country again! Send us a comment using one of the prepositions of place you've just learned.

Across from the river is the best place for to sleep
You must to walk just past the hotel and turn right.
In front of this house there is a post office.
The paradise is across from the rainbow.
towalk past the hotel and turn right. (sem o "to") 4th sentence: Tem certeza que o correios fica bem na frente da casa? lembra que in front of é usado quando você não está não outro lado da rua de alguma coisa, mas na frente mesmo. And finally, your 5th sentence: Não sei se eu estou certa, mas eu acho que você quis dizer: Heaven is over (or above) the rainbow. (Paraíso no sentido de Heaven??)that's sounds gay... whatever i'll be there acroos from the colege.
I've been busy lately and I’ve missed commenting here and do the tasks.
Btw, awesome lesson, very useful topic.
As Josh said, this lesson is to no one never get lost again, In fact I get used to get lost even in my own language, when I need to go to São Paulo or Campinas by car, I already know that I'll get lost. lol. I need a GPS as quick as possible. lol. Let's go to the task.
Hey Ash, Can we meet ourselves across from Mcdonalds in center? Or do you prefer in front of the pizzeria two blocks past Mcdonalds ?
That’s all.
See you

It's like the example in the grammar page of this lesson: "The London Eye is across the Thames from Big Ben"
sonat the supermarket too! It's very common for us to speak this way when talking about a doctor, dentist, mechanic, etc.
For example:
I went to the doctor's yesterday for a check-up.
I had to leave my car at the mechanic's because the carburetor broke.
And I would say the MET is pretty much right in front of Central Park! rsrs
Thanks once more,
Please feel free to help our other users on the site. On meuInglês we all help each other!
Yeah, the difference between across from, and in front of can be confusing!
Hmm, I just didn't get your example sentence. If the stationary store is across from the street, then what is it that separates them??
Usually one thing is across the street from another thing.
Would it be possible to send me an explanation?
Why this my answer "You can´t miss it was considered wrong?
Thanks.
Ofelia
my answeranswer of mine considered wrong?I'm not sure what happened, but the sentence is correct. Good job!

We'll have lunch at the restaurant across from (the place) where I live. But first we'll meet in front of my house.
I leave my house and I take the first left. I go ahead until arriving at the third traffic-light. Then, I turn right and go down avenue till sighting a big supermarket. Across from the supermarket is the club.
I leave my house and I take the first left (perfect!). I go straight ("ahead" is not necessary) until I arrive at (get to) the third traffic light. Then, I turn right and go down the street (mesmo se é uma avenida, se usa "street") until I see a big supermarket. Across from the supermarket is the club.
First you drive two blocks from your job. Turn left past the second traffic-light. The hospital is across from Detran´s Building.
