If you fly first class or business, lucky you! But flying coach isn't the end of the world, is it? You certainly shouldn't let it ruin your travel plans. For our TASK we'd like you to send in a comment using a question tag. Make sure you check out the grammar page first! Happy studying!

The father's day lunch will be macaroni again, won't it? rs

Yes, PGregory, you're having macaroni (we normally say "pasta") for Father's Day again. Perfect use of a question tag! Keep it up!

Hi there. I went on a trip few months ago and when Josh said about flying coach it reminds me the hard time that I had in the plane. I'm kind of tall, so it's so uncomfortable to fly coach, isn't it? I'm planning a trip to the next year, and when I remember that I'll have to spend a lot of time on the plane, it really gets me down (Meaning Desanimar, Right ?). That's horrible. I don’t like very much long trips, for example, a couple of years ago I went to a road trip to Paraty, amazing place by the way, and I spent about 6 hours inside the car, it almost drove me crazy. Lol. Worth it, though.
See you.

Hey, Fernando, great use of the question tag. If I remember correctly, you're planning a trip for next year to Ireland, aren't you? It's a very, very, very long flight from Brazil to Ireland! Talking about cars and going on a road trip, I often get car sick, especially if the roads are curvy.

I'm learning so much. Aren’t I?

Hi Josh! You're pretty right when you said that flying coach isn't the end of the world.
But we're always dreamming of first class, aren't we?

Yes, Alex you are learning a lot! Que bom! Só uma coisa, observe como escreve uma frase usando o question tag (e, também observe a correção de gramática): "There will be a class tomorrow, won't there?". A frase vem junto com o question tag, separado por vírgula só. E nesse caso, there é o verbo auxiliar se usa no question tag. Agora, pode mandar a última frase de novo separando a frase com o question tag por vírgula?

Yeah Josh, In fact I've changed my mind, I'm gonna go to London next year. I thought really well about prices, accent.. and I've decided that London is better for me. By the way, you guys could do a new lesson about London, couldn't you ? lol.. Just a suggestion. See you

Hi Ash. Let's go again: I'm learning so much, aren’t I? I notice that in this case we must use "aren't I" instead "Am not I". This is a exception, isn't it?

I wish I were AbacaFrehley! I don't have plans to go anywhere anytime soon! Great sentence!

Fernando, I actually did LOL when I read your comment. It's always good to think really hard about prices and the other factors involved in preparing for a trip. And London sounds like a fine choice! We will certainly take your suggestion under consideration. By the way, perfect use of the question tag!

Hi, Alex. If I may answer your question... Usar Am I not?

I'm quite new at the group, but it seems to me that you are having a lot of fun while studying English, aren't you? By the way, I love travelling and really don't mind if it has to be coach. Stopovers are also something I can put up with, but layovers often have the power to transform the most exciting dream into a nightmare, don't they? Cheers

Yeah, cmonte, I love traveling too, but I agree that the layovers can be nightmare! By the way, you sentences with question tags are perfect!

I can use your sunscreen, can't I? You talked "hello there", when you wanted to say "hello people", didn't you? I wrote these sentences on purpose, because I want to know the meaning of "there" in this situation and also, if I could use can in a tag question. Thanks!

Por: monicabic em 03/09/2009 às 19:23h
Perfect, Roberta! You can use "can" in tag questions and "hello there" was used in the sense of "hello people" or "hello everybody".

Welcome to meuInglês, Raquelbcardoso! I'm glad you're having a good time while you explore our site. And yes, we do work quite hard here (great use of the question tag, by the way, even without the "t" on "don't). We really appreciate your comments. Your English is obviously quite good. I hope we see more of you in the future!
